Trauma Release Therapy

Trauma Release as a treatment for TMJ
Trauma Release (see below) is used as a highly effective treatment for TMJ
Temporomandibular joint disease. If you suffer from TMJ you may be familiar with the many therapies used for treatment of TMJ such as: anesthetics, cortisone, anti-inflamitories along with a selection of invasive surgical procedures including surgical joint replacement. Many of these treatments are painful, costly, and give only temporary relief. Trauma Release as a treatment for TMJ has been developed over the past 40 years is noninvasive and is experiencing outstanding and lasting results.

Immediate Pain relief
Faster recovery time
Avoid surgical procedures
Avoid medications
Avoid injections
No adverse side effects
Rapid post-surgical healing

Trauma Release
Trauma Release is a gentle, non-traumatic autogenic (self participating) and interactive process that removes traumatic experiences and normalizes the body tissues. This allows the hard and soft tissues to be resilient, flexible, and able to move once again in the normal rhythmic manner that is natural for all living tissues. In the human body, this constant cycle of expansion and contraction takes place 8 – 14 times per minute. This is very different than the breathing movements and heartbeat, which can vary from moment to movement.

Prior traumas to the body, including falls, blows to the head, or from “labor” during birth, can alter and restrict this normal rhythmic movement. The head, face, jaws, neck, and back are especially vulnerable areas. The remarkable thing is that the body tissues retain a memory of significant traumas! Depending on the intensity of the traumatic experience, the tissues can be mildly or severely restricted. In this state, the tissues feel hard and non-yielding, especially in the cranio-facial complex. This restriction may also be felt as the pain or discomfort in a specific area of the body. As the restrictive patterns are relieved, like peeling off layers of an onion, the tissues regain their soft and resilient nature. Normal rhythmic movement is uncovered and restored, and normal circulation of fluids and cells take place once again. After one or several sessions, the pain and discomfort decrease in intensity. It may be several hours, days, or weeks after the initial release before another, deeper-seated traumatic pattern surfaces. This again restricts the normal movement and sometimes causes pain or discomfort in either the same or a new area of the body.

Since the Trauma Release Therapy works subtly, you may not feel any major or dramatic changes initially. This therapy enhances the movement of fluids, cells, and energy and allows the body to make its own corrections. It also has a normalizing effect on the jaws as well as the structural support of the body.

The restricted tissues, especially in the cranio-facial complex, take a great deal of your own energy to move – just like rusty hinges or joints. Therefore, when major restrictions are present, you tend to fatigue and tire.

One of the benefits of TRT is not only accessing and rooting out accumulations of prior traumatic experiences, but also in relieving a traumatic experience as soon as it occurs as a type of first aid. The results can be dramatic – the pain level is immediately reduced, there is little or no inflammation or bruising, and healing takes place at an accelerated rate. This procedure relates to any part of the body, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet.
